Spirit of the Wolf Sanctuary, Inc. (SOTWS), is a non-profit corporation, that was
created to provide permanent sanctuary (complete with a better quality of life,
shelter, vet care, enrichment and companionship) for captive born/raised wolves
and wolf hybrids that cannot find a home or be released into the wild.
Our goals not only include protecting and
preventing wolves and wolf hybrids from
succumbing to being euthanized, but to
strive to educate the public about wolves
and their importance in our ecosystem
and to discourage others from having
wolves as pets.
We believe that it is not the wolves’ fault
where they come from or how they got
here but it is our responsibility to care for
them while they are here.

National Wolf Awareness Week is a time to dispel the
misconceptions about wolves and to teach about the
important role wolves play in maintaining a healthy
Eco-systems. Wolves are a recognized symbol of
nature as well as in our history, yet it has long been
shrouded by myth, folklore and superstition.
Even though everyday should be considered a way to
spread wolf awareness, really use this week to spread
the word and celebrate wolves.
